The German program of BIT takes German language and literature as its main subjects. The program aims to lay the foundation of German language for students in terms of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating skills. In addition to an overall understanding of the culture, history, politics and economy of the German-speaking countries, students should be capable of cross-cultural communication.

While strengthening students’ mastery of German language, the German program utilizes the resources available at BIT, a school noted for science and engineering, and the course of Technical German is offered. Through the studying of basic professional knowledge in computers, auto making and machine building along with the relevant terms, students learn the characteristics of technical German and master the techniques related to technical German reading, writing and translation. The German program prepares students for career opportunities in fields of foreign affairs, translation, teaching, and research.
