The Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEP) of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) invites applications for positions at all levels in Management Science, Operations Research, Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, Energy Engineering, Climate Science, and Automatic Control relevant to Energy, Climate Change and Environment. The multi-disciplinary background is highly preferred.
CEEP-BIT was founded in 2009 and most of its senior members moved from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The current director of CEEP-BIT, Prof. Yi-Ming Wei, established a CAS-CNPC Joint Center for Energy and Environmental Policy in 2006, and held the founding director. The core research team then joined BIT and kept on contributing to research, education and international communication in the fields of energy and environmental policy. As one of the think-tanks in energy and climate change policy research, CEEP-BIT is now famous for its esteemed academic reputation, and positive interactions with the central government departments and energy industries.
CEEP provides a good research platform for professional development of junior faculty. It locates at Beijing, a good place for academic communication and cooperation, and policy research. In the fields of general economics, energy economics, environment economics, CEEP is listed in the top of institution rankings such as RePEc/IDEAS. And it is one of the around 50 members of IAMC. CEEP members have published high impact articles in journals such as Nature Climate Change, Nature Energy, and Nature Sustainability. All faculty members in CEEP are PIs of NSFC projects, and many of them are supported by national talents programs such as National Science Fund for Distinguished / Excellent Young Scholars and Changjiang Scholars Program. Many policy recommendations were adopted by the central government departments. There are now over 30 PhD candidates and 50 master students in CEEP. Many alumni are in high level universities such as UCL (tenure), national advanced think-tanks such as AMR, and ministry institutes, national energy companies such as State Grid and CNPC, etc.
