A Cinderella Story

Date: Thu Sep 23, 2004 10:21 am

Strictly for Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray (yummy) fans. Set in a high school in the San Fernando valley, the story of a 'dorky' girl, Sam (Duff) who lives with her step mother (Jennifer Coolidge) and step twin sisters after her father died. She has her dreams and her Prince Charming, the high school hot jock on the football team (Murray).....but all fairy tales have happy endings despite interferance of the worst sorts and of the worst kinds.

Alexander the Great

What did u hear when u watch Alexander in cinema?

Official Alexander Theatrical Banner - Alexander starring Colin Farrell as Alexander The Great. Also starring Angelina Jolie as Olympias and Val Kilmer as King Philip. Alexander directed by Oliver Stone.

I studied b4 the history of Alexander and from the official history, it was written that Hephaistion was Alex's best fren since kid, and he was extremely sad after his death n tats was one of the reason of his death at his young age. So it was to my astonishment when i watched the movie n knew tat Alex was probably homo.

After the relevant scene, i heard from ppl in my front row said: "now only i know it is Alexander the Gay, not the Great, hahaha". And a young girl from the row behind said in Cantonese: "Cheh, Alexander gau gay!"

What did u hear? Probably that reveals the impression of local ppl towards homosexuality. No matter u like it or not, its just turns out as a laughter to them.

Ironic?

I don't know why the gay aspect is blown out of proportion. I think that's not even an issue. In the ancient times, even the Romans partake in orgies and sexual relationships with both gender. Being
bisexual is a normal thing anyway...as opposed to what we call it nowadays.

I have the displeasure of watching Alexander last Sunday. I wanted to post my comment but hesistated as I know that movie would be the movie of choice for the movi outing.

Anyway, since the ball got rolled, it was the worst 3 hours I spend in the cinema. It was really bad and I don't know where to begin. My ex editor who was there (she normally approve of most movies no matter how bad they are when we do reviews) thinks that the movie is really bad as well.

As for the famed gay kissing that amazingly got through censorship, it was really nothing. No kissing. Just mere, small suggestion that they could be embracing. Sorry to burst the bubble.

Alien Vs Predator (**)

Have they ran out of ideas and have to resort to trying to cash in on the popularity of the "Alien" trilogy and "Predator" series? If you want something without using much of your cerebral power and some entertainment, then this movie is okay. At least it felt good to see the fertile egg laying "Alien mother fucker" blown to pieces again.

Another US box office hit. Jennifer Aniston looks good in this romantic comedy. Ben Stiller plays the goofy character we have accustomed to. Philip Seymour Hoffman playing a disgusting prima donna former star slob and Hank Azaria playing a randy French (with an over the top accent) scuba dive instructor provides most of the laughs.
