BIT President Meets Representatives from Two BIT Jointly Established Confucius Institutes

 

     Representatives from two partner universities hosting jointly established Confucius Institutes with BIT were greeted by President Jun ZHANG.

     President Jun ZHANG extended his warm welcome to representatives from Confucius Institute at University of Lagos in Nigeria and the Confucius Institute at University of Saskatchewan in Canada. He said that Confucius Institutes serve as an important way to promote Chinese language and culture, and the BIT-UNILAG ties and the BIT-U oS have been strengthened based on the platform of the two Confucius Institutes. BIT will continue to support the development of the two Confucius Institutes to advance faculty and student mobility and scientific research cooperation.

     Hailing the progress of the Confucius Institutes jointly established with Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, Vice-Chancellor of Lagos University and Dr. Darcy Marciniuk, Associate Vice-President (Research) of University of Saskatchewan, expressed the willingness to further develop the practical cooperation with BIT in various areas as well as to jointly maintain the sustainable development of the two Confucius Institutes.

     Representatives also includes Professor Chimdi Maduagwu, Foreign Director of Confucius Institute at University of Lagos; Professor Li ZONG, Foreign Director of Confucius Institutes at University of Saskatchewan. Also present at the meeting were staff from Office of International Affairs, BIT
