BIT Delegation’s Visit to Partner Universities

in the Netherlands and Belgium

From 16th to 21st, April 2018, BIT delegation led by Vice President, Prof.FANG Daining, visited Technical University of Delft, Eindhoven University of Technology and KU Leuven in the Netherlands and Belgium.

On April 16th and 17th, BIT Delegation visited the Technical University of Delft. Prof. FANG had an official meeting with Prof. Peter Wieringa, Vice President and Dean of the Graduate School of TUD to discuss the ongoing faculty academic exchange projects and the joint supervision project of doctoral candidates between the two universities. The two Vice Presidents also witnessed the signature of the Agreement of implementation of the Joint Supervision and Dual Diploma of Doctoral Research between the School of Mathematics and Statistics of BIT and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science of TUD. BIT delegates were also greeted by the director of the TU Delft Institute of Computational Science and Engineering, the director of DEMO and professors from the related academic units of TUD, after which, Professor FANG met with the BIT alumni and briefed them on the newly launched BIT Talent Recruitment Initiatives.

On April 18th, the delegation visited Eindhoven University of Technology and was welcomed by Prof. Frank Baaijens, Rector Magnificus, and Prof. Philip de Goey, Dean of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and other professors to discuss the exchange student project and the joint educational project on the master level between the two universities. A renewed MOU was signed. The delegation also visited the laboratories in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and talked with the exchange student representatives who will study in BIT for the next semester.

On April 20th, BIT delegation visited KU Leuven in Belgium. Prof. Fang had official meetings with Prof. Gerard Govers, Vice President of KU Leuven, Prof. Bert Lauwers, Dean of School of Engineering Technology and Prof. Wim Polet, the International Director of School of Engineering Technology. The Agreement on International Dual Degree in Engineering Technology was signed by both Vice Presidents.

The other members of the BIT delegation are representatives from the Graduate School, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Mathematics and Statistics, School of Mechatronical Engineering and the Office of International Affairs.
