They came, they played, they made friends!
TSG2005 was a blast with a packed schedule of sports and social events keeping participants, supporters and volunteers fully occupied for the entire weekend. Playing host to guests from Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan; Malaysia enjoyed a great outing sweeping all the medals in bowling and badminton. Our neighbours, Singapore topped volleyball while squash made its debut as a friendly competition.
The Straits Games (TSG) started as a friendly annual sports event between the LGBT communities in Singapore (MAW) and KL to foster friendship, promote a healthy lifestyle. TSG2005 'Friendship Beyond Games' had the added aim of raising HIV/AIDS awareness. It was the fourth in this series of annual games and the third time KL hosted the games, having been hosted by Singapore in 2004. For TSG2006, Thailand will be playing host for the first time as the games will be held in Phuket.
