Sarong Party 2005 held in Penang

This time, LPG's Sarong party was held in conjunction with LPG's Northern Exposure Trip to Penang from Oct 29 to Nov 1. It was celebrated very much differently from previous years. This year, we celebrated Deepavali as well, and most important of all, we organised the first ever PLU IDOL COMPETITION on the same evening, Oct 31.
As for dinner, it was yummy Nyonya food. The location was situated in City centre. Pintail Kafe closed for business that evening just to host our Sarong Party Dinner. 21 participants attended the dinner from 7:00pm till 8:30pm.
Later, we moved to Leo Fitness Centre and were joined by another 50-60 particiapnts who came for the PLU Idol Competition.
About 1/4 of the participants dressed in sarong, many of them were so well dressed that when it came ot costume competition, the particiapnts had a hard time in choosing the best dress Sarong Man. It was steve form PLU Penang that won the title.

The 1st PLU IDOL Competition
10 contestants shone and showed off their talents as LPG orgainesd the first ever PLU Idol competition in Penang in conjunction with the Northern Exposure Trip and Sarong Party 2005!
Any form of talent was welcome for this competition be it singing, dancing, miming, comedy etc and entries as individuals and groups were both welcomed! However, there was no gropu but individuals, and all except one had chosen to sing.
Aboout 70 spectators including those of us who joined the Northern Exposure Trip were there to cheer for the contestants.
