About Us

LPG is a non-profit volunteer group based in KL, comprising graduates of a leadership programme who are committed to making a difference to the quality of life for the LGBT community in Malaysia.

We organise sports and recreational activities as well as provide social and moral support for the well-being of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) or PLU (people like us) community in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in order to promote a happy, healthy and positive lifestyle.

Our regular social events are open to all walks of life regardless of gender, age, race, occupation, educational background, sexual orientation etc. Our activities are healthy, fun and geared towards positive values with the aim of community building.

The group formed in September 1998 and our activities include weekly sports (bowling, volleyball, badminton, squash), monthly movie/theatre outings & potluck gatherings, jungle trekking & picnics, domestic/overseas trips, fund raising events, community service etc.

To facilitate communication with and amongst our members a yahoogroup was set up in November 2001 and this has become part and parcel of the group's activities through which we not only publicise our activities but also encourage members to share opinions/thoughts and discuss issues in a supportive & empowering manner to build a sense of community and give support to each other.
